WEEK 6 - EVALUATION OF LATENT FINGERS, PALMS, TIPS, JOINTS, AND SUFFICIENCY DECISIONS
During week twelve the students were given instruction on the analysis, comparison and evaluation processes. Determining prints of value, ACE-V methodology, orientation and reporting conclusions were the main topics of lecture. Practical exercises on value, sufficiency, and the comparison of fingers, tips, and joints were conducted throughout the week.
An understanding of courtroom preparation including the use of PowerPoint and charted enlargements was introduced during the week. Each student completed a series of ten questions based on the NAS report that they would ask an examiner in a courtroom. Then the instructor and students had a question/answer session on these topics to give them an overview of the current and future challenges in the fingerprint and how to present visual aids in a courtroom environment.
